You don't have to own a hunter to go hunting
If you'd like to try hunting, but either don't have a horse or are worried about how your horse might behave, then you'd be more than welcome to join us on an experienced hunter hired from Chessington Equestrian Centre. Stress free hunting - they bring the horse to the meet for you, turned out appropriately and ready to go. You'll need to have a riding assessment as they wouldn't like you to put yourself through something you're not really up to, but also to make sure they give you a horse you're most likely to have a great day on. The cost of the hireling and the day's cap could make a great present for someone special and may be a lot less than you think.
Call Chessington Equestrian Centre on 020 8398 7668 or go to www.chessingtonequestriancentre.co.uk
You must be a member of the Countryside Alliance to come out hunting on a hireling and support foxhunting in general.

Hunt Staff Benefit SocietyThe Hunt Staff Benefit Society (HSBS) is a Registered Friendly Society benefiting the staff, without whom hunting could not exist. A new book on Wildlife Management
The Veterinary Association for Wildlife Management (VAWM) has commissioned The Facts of Rural Life to address a number of concerns it has on the management of wildlife in the countryside such as:
VAWM is particularly frustrated by the simplistic vision of the countryside and its wild inhabitants that is so often portrayed on television and in the popular press.
The author, Charlie Pye-Smith, is a respected writer on environmental topics, both in the UK and the developing world. Charlie has undertaken an extensive research programme of field visits and interviews with scientists, veterinarians, landowners, farmers and wildlife practitioners including conservationists, gamekeepers and huntsmen.
The Facts of Rural Life provides a valuable resource for politicians, the media and anyone genuinely concerned about conservation, animal welfare and the future of Britain’s countryside.
Copies of The Facts of Rural Life may be purchased at £10 per book, or £40 for 5 books, with cheques payable to VAWM through Brian Fanshawe, Old School House, Ashley, Tetbury, Glos. GL8 8SX
All enquires to Jim Barrington 07867 740154 or Brian Fanshawe 01666 575474.

- The loss, or potential loss, of many vulnerable species;
- The consequences of ill-thought through legislation;
- The problems created by over protectionism;
- The failure to recognise, or even understand, any need for pro-active management of certain dominant species.
